It should have been "Roja"!

Lets get this straight! I am proud today as I have always been ... being an Indian. Only thing is that many people and their acts make me proud each and every day in life and one such day was yesterday morning. My fellow Indian A.R.Rahaman won at the Oscars!

A.R. Rahman has won two Oscars awards for Best Original song and best background score. Personally I didn't like the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" for obvious reasons (I think "Rang De Basanti" was far more better a movie than "SL" and it makes me upset as well) but I must say that the music by AR was just too good for the competition at the Oscars. I would have been more happy if he had won this in 1992 for "Roja"!

Rahman's win comes as the crowning glory and he truly deserves the honor, not just for this movie, but for the fabulous music he has been making for over a decade.

I still remember when I saw him receive the Rajat Kamal award for Best Music Director at the National Film Awards in 1992, the first time ever by a first-time film composer. I heard those tracks in Tamil and never understood a word of it ... but the music haunts me still today. It was one of the best album I have ever heard in my life and still remains one of my favorites. I knew then that he had arrived and he just proved me right once more yesterday.

I salute his passion for delivering the best music over the years and I know he has a long way to go in life.

Keep the good work you are doing Rahman. We are proud of you and your work in the filed of art in our country where every parent's dream is to see his child being an Engineer, Doctor or a Government Servant.

He did it again!

Some people never give up in life and am honored to have met one such person in my life. He is none other than Doctor Ashis Roy.

You must be wondering "Who is he?". Well the answer is - He is a superhero! At least for me he is a superhero to most of the Indians who can barely walk a few meters on their feet.

I was volunteering at the Gurgaon Marathon & a Half today and it was a great pleasure to see people from all walks of life running these distances of 21 KMs and 42 KMs. Mind it ... it takes a lot of courage to do this. Its not as easy as watching these marathoners run. Its good to see that people like Rahul Verghese, founder (Chief Believer) of Runninandliving.com, putting all their efforts to make people live a healthy life. I met Rahul in 2008 while jogging at the Leisure Valley park in Gurgaon and since then I have been taking part in all the runs organized by Running and Living in either way, as a participant or as a volunteer.

So let's talk a bit about the man of the moment ... Doctor Roy! I have seen him running last year at couple of events organized by Running and Living. He is 78 today and has ran 88 marathons till date. What's amazing is he is going good and when I personally saw him complete the 42 KMs run today, I was taken aback by his sheer will power and stamina. At the end of the race when he was having a chat with a few of us, he told that his best timing of a Full Marathon is 03.10.00 and guess how old he was then ... 55 years! He is a rock star guys. Trust me on this.

Seeing him run today has made me believe one thing in life - "Impossible is Nothing!". Am not talking about any sports brand here but its the real truth of life!

P.S.: I will be running the Half next time for sure!

British Airways Plane crash lands in London

A few minutes back a passenger jet crash landed at the London City Airport. All the 76 passengers and crew members are safe.

Two people were taken to hospital after the crash landing. It looks like one of the worst days for air travelers as well as train travelers all over the world.

A few hours back a Continental flight crashed in the Buffalo area and also a train derailed in India.

What the bug is the first blog to report the London crash landing!!!
