Australia no more!

South Africa has done it! They have beaten the Australians in the 2nd test and have won the series. It is there first-ever series against Australia.

Smith's marvellous 75 had set South Africa well on the way to their target of 183 and a series win for the first time in nine tours of Australia. Fellow opener Neil McKenzie can also take a bow. Batting under obvious pressure, McKenzie has made just 37 of the 132 runs, but the calm manner in which he has battled through his loss of form while helping to lay the sturdiest of platforms for the fourth-innings run-chase has spoken volumes for the temperament of the man.

Smith and McKenzie needed another 153 runs at the start of a hazy day that had featured rain earlier in the morning.

SA becomes the first country to defeat Australia at home after 16 years! The Aussies have dominated for long but looks like there time is over and they are completely shattered. This is a historic victory for SA and the SA team has done it in style.

I do see the Indians smiling for some reason!

Best Christmas Gift ever ...

In the morning of December 25th 2008, he came into our lives! Can you think of any better day for the arrival of a new family member?

The feeling of emotion and happiness when I first set eyes on and held my son is very hard to describe. He was so small! Wow, firstly for some time I couldn’t believe what I saw (even today, I just stare at him with curiosity). The doctor just gave me a glimpse of the baby and took him to a nursery. Then started my wait to hold my baby in my arms. I was very anxious to see him and it showed as I went to the nursery a few times to have a glimpse of my son.

Finally, in the late noon I was able to see him. I am not able to explain the feelings in words as am not a good writer and I think, even a good novel writer would not be able to put the feelings of a father when he holds his baby for the first time. It was just amazing. I could not stop staring at him, he was so perfect. Scared, what an idiot I thought, you are the luckiest man alive. I had the greatest joy of my life on Christmas this year. This is the best gift that I have received in my life.

I haven’t slept the whole night last night as he was awake but I am enjoying it. I think he is trying to adjust himself to this outside world. He just stared at things and I believe he is trying to understand this big bad world we live in. I really hope that the world will be a better place to live in till the time he grows up.

We have named him 'Arav' which means 'Peaceful' in Sanskrit.

The future is really exciting for me. I now have something to really live for along with my wife! There are many things that I am looking forward to and some of them are mentioned below:

  • Taking my son to play football!
  • Taking my son to bike rides!
  • Taking my son to his school!
  • Taking my son for his first beer!
  • Seeing my son with his first girlfriend!
  • Becoming a grand-dad!

These of course are just a small number of many things which really excite me in the future. Lets see how it goes!

How Mr.Karkare died in Mumbai attacks

The post-mortem report details the sequence of events that led to Karkare's death. All the four bullets that hit Karkare were fired from the weapons used by the terrorists. Also the police have every detail of the wireless messages sent and received by Karkare during the Mumbai attacks.

Investigators say the terrorists landed up at Cama Hospital by mistake. They entered the building and killed a guard and asked another one how to get inside.

After spending about 20 minutes in the hospital premises and not knowing where they were, the terrorists came to the hospital gate.

After getting information that the terrorists were hiding in the area, Hemant Karkare, Additional Commissioner Of Police Ashok Kamte and Inspector Vijay Salaskar came in one vehicle towards Cama Hospital at a very low speed. These guys were brave officers of Mumbai police, so if some one says why they went there ... my answer is ... because YOU would not have dared to go there. What the ....? How can some one ask, why these 3 top officials went there? These guys never cared about their lives as country was first for them and then their personal life. It was part and parcel of their lives ... to confront everyone who attacked the country or countrymen. If you people know, Mr.Karkare was in RAW for 7 years before being a part of ATS.

From behind the trees Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab and his associate fired at the police van. They just fired because it was a police vehicle and ended up killing the three senior police officers.

So all the speculations about Mr.Karkare's death ends here. That minister of the Indian Government needs to be told this. I wish he read my blog if not the police reports!

God bless all those who officers for whom the call of duty was important than everything else. We are proud of you!

Soccer at its best!

Yesterday evening was one of the best nights of English Premier League. It was great to see the best football after a long time. Even the Champions League matches have not been as good till now, though I hope that in the knock out round CL will produce some of the best soccer!

It was good to see the Gunners doing their best but more interesting was to see Liverpool's composed fight back when they were behind. Robin van Persie had fired the Gunners ahead with a fine strike on 24 minutes, only for former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane to equalise. Adebayor was shown RED (a second yellow) card by referee on the hour mark, and the Gunners had to settle for a draw. This further dents their fading title aspirations. If Adebayor was not sent off, it would have been a different story.

But what ever the outcome, it was enjoyable. I got to see good football after a long time!

Paradise ... No more!

GOA ... William Shakespeare once said "What's in name?" ... to him my answer is - If you say 'GOA', there's lot in the name!

GOA is a paradise, I really mean it. I love being there and have been there to enjoy the clean beaches and the sun (not to mention 'beer'). Its the place where you find life! Its the place to enjoy every moment of your life. Its the place where you forget all your sadness and rejuvenate.

But ... this paradise is going to be affected a lot now. Because of the some of the eunuchs in the Indian Government, there is a ban on the beach parties this year. So during Xmas or New Year celebrations, there will be no more beach parties.

What the ....? Is this going to send a right message to the world? Does this mean that after all those talks of bravery, we are going to give up against the terror threats? Does this mean that our government is not capable of protecting its people on their own soil?

This is so ridiculous. If you can not protect your countrymen, in your own country, what the .... are you doing with taxpayer's money? You don't have the right to rule this country anymore - if this is what we get in return. We can not go out and celebrate in our own motherland.

I believe the paradise is lost now. I really don't know what the future generations in India have in store in this country.

Why worry now ....

Sharing one of my all time favourite song with you all.

Lyrics for you below:

Baby I see this world has made you sad
Some people can be bad
The things they do, the things they say
But baby Ill wipe away those bitter tears
Ill chase away those restless fears
That turn your blue skies into grey

Why worry, there should be laughter after the pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

Baby when I get down I turn to you
And you make sense of what I do
I know it isnt hard to say
But baby just when this world seems mean and cold
Our love comes shining red and gold
And all the rest is by the way

Why worry, there should be laughter after pain
There should be sunsh ine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

The Great Indian Circus!

I still remember the night of 26/11. It was about 10.30 pm and I turned on the TV to have a glimpse of the news at the hour. To my shock, Mumbai was under siege by the Pakistani terrorists.

And then started the race of the news channels across India! As usual, every one wanted to be the first to report, with only one motive - increasing the viewership ratings!

It was nasty. Every channel wanted to be the FIRST. No details were hidden from the public and when I say details, every bit of it. More surprising was the live telecast of the NSG Commandos counter measures. Each channel was in the race, trying to be the FIRST! Each detail was divulged with the viewers.

Well, these so called pro-active news channels should have understood their responsibility more carefully. They were divulging important details like the position of the NSG commandos etc on LIVE TV. How responsible act is that?

But then, amidst criticism that the electronic media has gone overboard during the Mumbai terror coverage, the News Broadcasters' Association (NBA) on Thursday came out with guidelines providing for recommendation for cancellation of license in "extreme" violation of the "code of conduct."

I got a good relief with this act of the NBA. After all, who likes to see the dead bodies torn apart by bombs? Who likes to hurt the dignity of the dead people by showing extreme pictures?

This Indian Circus (TV Channels) is very irresponsible. We have seen these channels making fun of everything they come across. I was really shocked when on 'World Disability Day', our then president (Mr.Kalam) was awarding great individuals who have overcome all the challenges in life to make a difference to the country and the Great India Circus was broadcasting a very important news - that of a Bollywood star's alleged affair! You must be wondering - how do I know about the award function? Well, I still hook to our old love - Doordarshan!

I hope the Indian Circus will now be more bearable with no live pictures of torn bodies and bloodshed on TV. I am also lucky that when I was growing up in this country, this circus was not there. I am really very very lucky!

They did it again!

One of the Indian minister (I don't like to mention these politicians names, they are all the same - Mafia elected by people) on Wednesday contested investigators’ findings that Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed by Ismail Khan, an accomplice of arrested jihadi Ajmal Kasab.

Now what the ....? What is this minister doing? Was he there when Mr.Karkare went to fight the terrorists when they invaded a hospital? Does he know what a loss is? What the 'bug' was he doing when the terrorists were striking Mumbai? I think he must have been sipping coffee and watching all these heroes fight the terrorists - on TV!

Does this minister know that, this useless talks of his is going to make Pakistan comfortable?

I mean ... very frankly, I don't have words to put in here. When a coveted officer died in Delhi fighting terrorists, I have seen a politician rewarding the slain police officer's family some money (which the family didn't accept), and then in a matter of 2 days questioning the motive behind that police officer's killing! What the ....?

This is what we see in our day-to-day life in India. We have got so much used to watch this happen that, this hardly matters to any Indian.

Sad but true!!!

FBI confirms what India knows!

India has been knowing that most of the terror strikes in India were carried on by Pakistani nationals. From the attack on our parliament to the Mumbai attacks, all has been the handy work of the terrorist from our neighboring country.

The Parliament attack reminds me of one of the news article I read on Dec.14' 08. Every year, on Dec 13th, there is a small prayer in the Parliament, for the heroes of those attacks.

Now read this ... this year, on Dec 13th when the prayers were being held, less than a dozen MPs were present to offer their prayers to these heroes. What the .... ?

Is this our heroes - who laid down their lives for our country, deserve? What kind of politicians we have in this country. Another good example is one which I heard from my good friend Satish. He was saying that in our country, an Olympic Gold Medalist Shooter is awarded INR 2 Crores but ... a shooter from NSG/Police, who laid down his life ... shooting terrorists is given a compensation of INR 50 K! Isn't is great? And we all ... just watch ... that's even cool ... ain't it?

Come on India. Think before some one from your family gets killed in these kind of terror attacks. Mind it, its not impossible at all ... May be then you will realize what a loss is!

Wake up before its too late.

Welcome home - New Heroes of Indian sports

Times are changing ... Yes, Cricket is no more the only game followed by Indian people. Surprising but true!

Today, in the wee hours, the Indian Boxing team arrived (from AIBA World Cup, Moscow) in New Delhi to a heroes welcome. Good to see this happen. The Olympics changed this I believe. How many times you have seen any boxer talking on Television before 2008? We can't even recall names of boxers who played for India before 2008. But its not the case anymore. Vijender, Akhil Kumar & Jitender Kumar are household names these days and why not ... they have made our country proud.

Its time we Indians start taking sports seriously. Times are changing and we need to go by the flow. I won't be surprised to see soccer (my favourite sport) reaching new heights in India after Maradona's visit to the country recently. I wish he had visited India a few years back though.

What the .... ?

I struggled with what would be my first post here. It should be prolific after all this time, right? Grand in nature. Broad in scope. So, I struggled.

But I know its like walking into a room full of people you’ve never met! So let me introduce myself to the world ... OK ... virtual world!

Name is Baba ... Baba Tiratzo. What the ... ? What's this stupid name? Well this is my name in second life. My friends call me Baba ... it goes well with my last name I guess ... 'DholiBaba'!

By the way ... am Anand. What next? Well I believe you will come to know about me as you get the feed to this blog of mine. And if not ... What the ....?

So welcome to this stupid fellow's blog. Everyone speaks his/her mind these days, so why not me? I would be talking about everything ... everything I come across in my day-to-day life. Though I was owning a blog with other name earlier , it died down with my mind. Now that my mind is 'alive' again, I thought of speaking my mind with you all.

So keep your eyes wide open and get that feed of my blog ... I know you care & If you don't ... What the ....?
